Our Major Writing Projects...
"This I Believe" Personal Essay--students will write an essay that explores something they believe in. The essay can mix informative, persuasive, and personal narrative writing and will include a published draft with audio.
The Annotated Bibliography--students will research topics connected to The Things They Carried and find articles that will help them write their "true war story." Students will then created an MLA formatted Works Cited page complete with annotated reflections for each source.
Final Exam" Social Service Project Proposal and Presentation--students will focus on a social issue that they discovered during our literature reading and work in collaborative groups to create a realistic service project that can help impact or change the social issue at hand. Students will have to organize all the elements of their proposal in a realistic and fully researched way that will be presented to a panel of teachers, administrators, and other community members.
